Festive Period & The Coming Year

Thanks to the vast majority of customers who didn't leave orders until the last minute! I hope you all enjoyed your parties and that the Christmas gifts we created for you were appreciated by their intended recipients.

We at shurtz have decided to take a short break. It will the first in almost twelve months, not that we're grumbling at you for keeping shurtz busy!!

We'll be back to normal on Tuesday 7th. January 2014 at 9.30 a.m..

Thank you for your amazing support throughout 2013. We're now looking forward to continued growth in 2014. A couple of new contracts that we've acquired should go a long way toward achieving this.

Christmas Greetings - Onward & Upward!

It doesn't seem five minutes since we set up stall at Leigh Market, yet we are rapidly approaching our third Summer season! Sales are continuing to rise month on month and the feedback we are getting from customers is both positive and very gratifying. Based on the increasing complexity of the jobs we are taking on it seems to me that we've earned a reputation for being able to do the jobs that other suppliers shy away from!

Regardless of  how simple or complex your requirements are, the service you receive from your printer must never be compromised. In this regard there are a number of things you should always insist upon when placing each and every order.

1. There should be no set-up costs for vinyl design work.
2. You should be shown the draft design before the garment/s is/are printed. Preferably, this should occur on the same day as your enquiry either at the printer's premises or by email.
3. The size and position of the design/s on the garment/s should be made clear.
4. You should expect orders of up to 40 printed garments to be completed within one to three working days and, although a premium may be charged, a same day printing service should be available.
5. If you have difficulty in collecting the completed order, you should expect free delivery to your home/place of work if it is within a few miles of the print workshop.

If your printer cannot supply this level of service, I suggest you make shurtz your next port of call to see how it should be done. ;)

Since we are perpetually looking for ways in which we can improve our service to our customers, we would welcome any suggestions you may have for helping us to achieve this.

Dave Skinner's 24 Hour Blind Challenge

A big well done to Dave Skinner, volunteer community sighted guy for Guide Dogs, for bringing home to all of us (who probably take sight for granted) the stark reality of blindness and some of the challenges it poses.

Festive Season Order Deadline Dates

Over the Christmas period, we will be closed from Tuesday 24/12/2013-Thursday 26/12/2013 (inc) and from Tuesday 31/12/2013-Thursday 02/01/2014 (inc). Last orders pre-Christmas will be taken on Saturday 21/12/2013 for collection on Monday 23/12/2013. Last orders pre-New Years Eve will be Saturday 28/12/2013 for collection on Monday 30/12/2013.

Please note, after the festive period, we will revert to being closed every Monday.

Based on enquiries and orders already taken, we are likely to be under increasing pressure over this period especially as we approach deadlines. Please try your best to order early. :)

Morris Dancers

A big thank you to all of the troupes who placed orders with shurtz ahead of the forthcoming morris dancing championships. We wish you lots of success. Don't forget, it's the winning that matters, not the taking part!! lol

QR Bar-codes

Add QR bar-codes to your garments for quick reading of your business or charity. Shurtz can add these as a 100mm x 100mm left breast design (for example) within the basic cost of printing one side of a garment. So, QR bar-code to front left breast plus business/charity name and other details full width (230mm) to rear for just £6 if five garment prints ordered. Price increases and decreases depending upon numbers ordered.

Swankers UK

Like many bands before them, award winning band Swankers UK chose shurtz to print their tee shirts. Look out for Swankers playing Sex Pistols and other punk music at a venue near you. They're awesome....and their tee shirts ain't too bad either! ;)

Elias T Hoth - Best Of British!!

The annual Blues Festival @ Colne is due to be held over the bank holiday weekend.

Leigh's very own Elias.T.Hoth will appear on the  Bulmers British Stage on Monday, 26th August - 14.00 to 15.00. I have both of their albums and some live tracks and can tell you that they are awesome Southern States style rockers. Lead singer and songwriter Dean Meadows has brought together a group of extremely talented session musicians and this lot really do rock. Also added, a couple of female backing singers.

Names on School Garments

Was shocked yesterday to learn the cost of school uniform! Bedford High School (Leigh, Lancashire) blazers are £35.00!! To help you parents out, we will now print surnames to sports shirts, gym kit, etc., in the official font, size and print colour for £5.00 per print per garment. If you order a second print in the same colour we'll do that for just £3.00. Don't forget that we only use the finest heat-pressed vinyls from the likes of Xpres and MDP. It will not fade. It will not crack. It will not peel. Simply put, it will outlast the garment!

Inexpensive Teeshirts

Possibly for a limited period only, we have access to tee-shirts in black, white and a few other colours which are available @ £2.00 each. This means that we can supply printed tee-shirts for less than other printers charge just for printing!!! If you know what's good for your wallet.......

Photo-prints Onto Dark Coloured and Black Garments

Now doing photo-prints onto black and dark garments. Stunning results. As with all such prints, fading over time is inevitable, but it provides a cost effective way to print small numbers of multicoloured designs.

As an indication of this Summer's prices. Unprinted tees, £4 or less. Unprinted vest tops, £2.50. For printing orders of 5 garments or more, £5 or less for single side printing and just £6 or less for double side printing. So, 5 vest tops supplied and printed to both sides, just £42.50!!! Dance Troupes & Morris Dancers

We're now supplying garment prints in special holographic and metallic finishes especially for dance troupes & morris dancers. Minimum orders apply dependent on what you need. Just call on stall with specific details, numbers, colours, an indication of design requirements and the price you're trying to beat! Make shurtz your LAST port of call when you are ready to place your order. ;)

Changes....

Due to unforeseen circumstances, shurtz will be unable to take orders for embroidery until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and will do all we can to help existing customers to source an alternative supplier.

As regards tee shirt printing, it's very much business as usual, although we have been able to reduce our prices compared to last year by driving down our supplier's rates. This has been possible due to our increasing buying power which in turn has been helped by the large number of orders that we've taken over the last year. Consider the reduction a thank you to all of those who have chosen shurtz to supply their personalised garments.

Same Day Production

Due to heavy demand for same day printing, we have streamlined our production process to enable us to provide this service in most cases. Ask on stall and we will contact our workshop there and then to confirm whether what you require is possible. If so, we will prepare your design there and then for your approval and email same to our technicians who will pre-cut the design ready for pressing. To benefit from this service you would need to supply your own garments. Preferably, we would need to take an order no later than 12.00 noon, but later times may be possible if the stall is adequately manned. Orders should be completed and back on the stall within the hour. For SAME DAY SERVICE there will be an extra over charge of £1.00 per garment with a minimum charge of £5.00 per order. Payment in FULL will be required WITH ORDER.
